Jordan will perform with Our Time Wind Quintet at the International Double Reed Society Virtual Symposium. Repertoire will include: Eric Delgado’s Distanced Yet United and Alyssa Morris’ Dumbarton Oaks.

March 20, 2021: Sound Play Workshop with Also Known As

Jordan will facilitate Sound Play for the youth and teen mentorship groups with Also Known As. This workshop is open to adoptees only and will focus on how music can be a powerful tool in processing the feelings and emotions that come up as we explore our adoption stories and ways we create and express our identities.

March 17, 2021: Sound Play Workshop with Three Rivers Young People’s Orchestra

Jordan will present her workshop Sound Play for the TRYPO Talks Series. This workshop’s focus is on how young musicians can explore their own individual style of music making and how we can boost our knowledge of instrumental color for emotionally rich performances.

Our Time Wind Quintet’s live stream recital featuring Darius Milhaud’s La Cheminée du roi René, a world premiere of Eric Delgado’s Distanced Yet United, and Carl Nielsen’s Wind Quintet op. 43.

Jordan will present her workshop Sound Play for Also Known As, an adoptee organization that connects adult adoptees to build a community that empowers adoption experiences. This workshop will be presented for adoptees only and focus on how music can be a powerful tool in helping to process the feelings and emotions that come up as we explore our adoption stories and ways we create and express our identities.

Robert SCHUMANN: Three Romances for Oboe and Piano
Camille SAINT-SAËNS: Sonata for Bassoon and Piano
Johannes BRAHMS: Sonata No. 1 in F minor for Clarinet and Piano

The new year echoes an air of optimism as three of our woodwind players return to the stage after months away. These musicians will each perform sonatas accompanied by Reno Phil Principal Pianist, James Winn. The event will feature interviews with soloists Eric Fassbender (bassoon) and Joshua Anderson (clarinet) by Maestro Laura Jackson. She will also introduce our newest musician, Jordan Pyle (oboe), who hasn’t yet had a chance to perform with the orchestra. Feel 2020 melt away with sounds of Schumann, Saint-Saens, and Brahms and let the promise of a new year unfold.

Music Workshop “Sound Play: How Music Moves Us” with Denver Young Artist Orchestra, December 6 and 8, 2020.

Jordan presents her workshop for Denver Young Artist Orchestra, facilitating discussions about identity, self-expression, and emotion. We will explore whats unites us as musicians and and how we express in individual ways. We also explore instrumental color and other tools at our disposal to gain awareness of how we can create emotionally rich and authentic performances.

Jordan presents her workshop “Sound Play: How Music Moves Us” to the Undergraduate Enrichment Scholars Program at the University of Colorado Boulder. This workshop explores music and the ways music can be used to explore and understand our feelings and emotions. In this workshop we will break down music into its basic elements sound and rhythm. Through sound scavenger hunts and rhythm and movement exercises we will gain awareness of how music moves us emotionally, how it speaks to us personally, and how it can be used to process our feelings and emotions.

Jordan will partner with Asian Womxn in the Arts to facilitate a workshop exploring music and the ways music can be used to explore and understand our feelings and emotions.
